About Us

Urban Patchwork is made up of regular people who live, work, grow, and make connections around locally grown food in central Arkansas. We have dozens of years of combined experience working in urban agriculture. We are an

inter-generational, multi-racial group of students, accountants, backyard gardeners, teachers, retirees, parents, and neighbors who share a love of growing local food, caring for the land, and helping others to do the same .

Our Work

Urban Patchwork is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that promotes sustainable, community-driven solutions to socioeconomic challenges that make it difficult for Arkansans to engage in the local food economy. Our ultimate aim is to address issues around food insecurity, environmental integrity, and economic stability.  Our organization offers hands-on educational sessions and workshops to teach practical skills for sustainable urban farming. We want to share our strategies and nurture a network of people who want to create the local food future of Central Arkansas.

Mission

The mission of Urban Patchwork is to share knowledge, resources, and expertise that allows people to learn how to grow their own food. We offer participatory learning experiences that encourage people to connect with others who are interested in growing food.

When we teach sustainable urban farming strategies and practical shop skills, we increase community independence, confidence,

and know-how.

Vision

Our vision is a strong local food economy that prioritizes sustainable, local production and meets the needs of every resident.

We want to create resilient communities where everyone has access to healthy, fresh food and where people have power over their own food supply.
